Lanakila is a songwriter and musician living in Santa Cruz County, California, making music in the Hawaiian spirit of lokahi - celebrating the interconnection of God, nature, and all people.
Born Elizabeth Nestle, and known for many years as "Betsy," she received the name Lanakila Pukana La Iesu, "the victory of Christ's dawning," in March 2007 while learning the ancient art of lomilomi with her 'ohana (extended family) in Maui.
Lanakila is also a massage therapist and a practitioner of lomilomi, a traditional Hawaiian rite of passage supporting people in times of transition.
